Suffering from a cold and a temperature, this spurious dream was sketched as soon as I awoke. The delicate images coagulate together, some following the same orientation of the road and others are flat pictorial images. The more animated objects lie at the bottom, with the footprint lazily disappearing off into the road, beckoning ‘come this way’. These ‘images’ have replaced the surrounding landscape, except for the clouds and descending rings. Some ‘Miro’ touches here (purely deliberate) but I hope to portray a unique setting with jewelery precision.
This was created form one of my earliest dream sketches, with a time lag of almost 10 years before tackling this head on. Pointillism features heavily here. The outline of the windows was sketched and filled in followed by the Zen type surroundings and the flooring. The tricky part was what to do with the black outlines of the windows as they came closer to the central moon, which distorts the window frame and splits it up with light rays radiating out. Intense concentration and working around the soft pencil outlines of the frames has created this special effect, with utmost care to rub out the pencil marks and not smear the ink. The pointillism was done around the edge first, allowing time for myself to work out and effective plan for the central penetrating moon.
